An enjoyable way to pass the time in the waiting room
Benjamin Daniels aspires to be for general practice what James Herriot was for veterinary medicine.

Might be useful outside UK as well
A funny, yet not comedic, book about what's it like on the other side of the fence, er, consultation room.

Brilliant
An original book written by a real GP in the UK, based on the author's personal experiences with the NHS and his patients, which will make you laugh out loud and ponder over serious matters, all at the same time.
